IQM Led Consortium Receives €12.4 Million ($15.0M USD) to Develop Application Specific Quantum Pr...

The funding was provided by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, abbreviated BMBF. Besides IQM additional participants include ParityQC, Infineon, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Leibniz Supercomputing Center, and Freie Universität Berlin. The project, codenamed DAQC (Digital-Analog Quantum Computer) will develop a 54 qubit quantum processor over a four year period. Although IQM is headquartered in Finland, in March 2020 they established a subsidiary in Munich, Germany as a co-design hub to tighten the interaction between quantum hardware and quantum software development.
