Microsoft Updates Its Quantum Development Kit

  1. Support for MacOS and Linux

  2. Python interoperability

  3. Full license to open source libraries allowing code reuse

  4. Simulation performance increase of up to 4-5 times which would be particularly noticeable on simulations of 20 qubits or more Of particular interest to us is a counter on Microsoft's Visual Studio Marketplace site that shows over 35,000 users have already downloaded a version of this development kit as of February 2018 since it was originally released in December 2017. For more details on this new release, Microsoft has a blog which discusses the key features and provides links to download and install the code.  You can find the blog link here.
