NIST Soliciting Collaborators for their Migrating to Post-Quantum Cryptography Project

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) within the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is inviting interested parties to collaborate in their Migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography project. The purpose of this project is to develop practices to ease the migration from the current set of public-key cryptographic algorithms to post quantum cryptography (PQC) replacement algorithms that are resistant to quantum computer-based attacks. NIST has been working for several years on an algorithm selection process to choose appropriate algorithms which should be completed within the next one to two years. After that we expect the computer and communications industry will undergo a large multidecade effort costing billions of dollars to upgrade the tens of billions of devices in our worldwide digital infrastructure to incorporate these quantum resistant encryption algorithms. The partners that NCCoE selects for this project will enter into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for this project.
