QHealth Consortium Led by aQuantum Receives €3.67 Million ($4.4M USD) Grant to Study Drug Impacts...

The funds are being provided by the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain. Along with collaborators GloinMadrija,  University Institute of Biosanitary Research of Extremadura (INUBE), University of Extremadura (UEx) and the University of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM), they will conduct research using quantum computing to investigate the correlation among the genetic variables, drug consumption and other variables related to the health history of the elderly patients. The project started in August 2020 and is expected to finish in December 2023. The goal of the research is to help the medical community find ways of reducing side effects and errors in drug prescription as well as discovering potential ways of using quantum software that can optimize how drugs are prescribed based upon physiologic, genetic, and environmental factors associated with the particular elderly patient and, ultimately, increase longevity and quality of life of older adults. For more about this award and the program itself, you can view a blog post on the aQuantum website here and a more detailed description of the program here.
