Megaport is a global digital networking company that provides a Network as a Service (NaaS) platform. They connect about 795 data centers worldwide including major cloud services from AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and many others. Qrypt is a startup developing quantum secure solutions using its own technology based upon never directly transmitting keys and ensuring that all keys are completely random using Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNG) to ensure complete entropy. Their approach to providing quantum secure communications is different from some of the others since they do not use the Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and their approach is based upon the generation of identical symmetric keys at multiple endpoints, without ever needing to distribute that key over the wire. For an end user, the Qrypt solution is available as a software download and does not require the installation of any additional hardware. The demonstration included file sharing applications using Qrypt's solution between several global data centers, including AWS in San Francisco, Azure US East in Virginia, and Google Cloud in Tokyo. This quantum secure communications capability is now available to be used with any type of data as an option for Megaport's customers. Additional information about this is available in a news release provided by Qrypt which can be accessed here.
