Quantum Brilliance is an Australian quantum hardware startup that is using Nitrogen Vacancy (NV) diamond to create qubits that have long coherence times, run at room temperature, have low power requirements, and can be miniaturized to fit into a 19 inch rack panel. Rather than saying they are developing a quantum computer, they are marketing their devices as quantum accelerators as devices that can be integrated into an HPC data center or used for edge computing. This new funding has come from investors including include Breakthrough Victoria, Main Sequence, Investible, Ultratech Capital Partners, MA Growth Ventures, Jelix Ventures, Rampersand and CM Equity Partners. The company will be using the funds for R&D, improve manufacturing, and expand its international operations beyond its current locations in Australia and Germany. The company previously raised about $11 million in previous rounds and in April 2022 established a the Research Hub for Diamond Quantum Materials in Victoria, Australia. They currently have a two qubit device available for integration testing and last year installed one of these devices at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre in Perth, Australia. Additional information about this funding can be found in a news release available here.
