Quix will work with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) over a four year program to install 8- and 64-qubit quantum computers based on photonics at the DLR Innovation Center in Ulm, Germany. Using the Quix processors, DLR research their use for such problems as post-quantum cryptography, quantum machine learning, planning optimization for satellite operations, and simulation of chemical redox reactions for the development of battery systems. Previously, the largest photonics chip that Quix had delivered was a 20 mode low-loss, multimode, fully reconfigurable interferometers for quantum computing that operate at room temperature. Additional information about this contract is available in a news release provided by Quix and located here.
