U.S. Air Force Awards 17 Quantum Seed Grants Totaling Over $1 Million

The Air Force Research Laboratory’s Air Force Office of Scientific Research has awarded 17 academic institutions seed grants of around $75,000 each to perform research on various aspects of quantum technology. This is the result of a $1,000,000 International Quantum U Tech Accelerator pitch competition event organized by the Innovare Advancement Center and held on September 1-3, 2020 . The 17 winners were selected from a group of 36 proposers from 22 different countries including the United States. The proposals were made within four focus areas of quantum information science: Communications, Computing, Sensing and Timing.
