Welinq Receives a €5 Million ($5.4M USD) Pre-Seed Round Funding

Welinq is a Paris, France based startup founded in 2020 that is developing quantum memory technology which would be critical for extending the range of a quantum communications network and could also be used in connecting multiple quantum computers together for scaling up quantum computing. Their product is based upon a  laser-cooled neutral-atom technology which allows them to achieve high qubit fidelities. The funding round was led by Quantonation with additional participation from Luxembourg-based Runa Capital and support from the Paris Region, the French National Quantum Initiative, the French Banque Publique d’Investissement (BPI), and the European Commission.
